The Trust has three main sites with Frimley Park Hospital, Wexham Park Hospital in Slough and Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot. Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey Currently seeing over 120,000 patients per year Frimley Park Hospital Emergency Department is one of the busiest yet best resourced District General Hospitals in the country. Benefitting from a recent redevelopment the successful candidate will enjoy working in a state of the art new build department recognised nationwide. As a regional PCI, vascular and stroke centre as well as busy trauma unit you will be guaranteed a rich and varied caseload of acute presentations. The Care Quality Commission recently recognised the excellent team working and leadership in the ED and the department consistently performs above the national average against quality measures including friends & family and staff satisfaction. Wexham Park Hospital Wexham Park Hospital became part of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust over four years ago. Our Emergency Department currently sees over 120,000 patients per annum, >25% of whom are managed in our integrated Paediatric ED. One of our successes in improving patient care and flow was the 50 million investment for a state-of-the-art emergency wing which was completed in April 2019. This new build encompasses new ways of working, with the entire ground floor being dedicated to the new ED, creating single room facilities for the patients and expansion in all areas of ED. There is an integrated radiology facility including CT scanner and ultrasound facilities dedicated to the diagnostic imaging of emergency patients. The upper floors are bringing together a new partnership between medicine and surgical assessment units with a multi-disciplinary approach to the model of care which will enhance timely patient diagnosis and flow. For both hospitals, the Consultant body is friendly and energetic. They are committed to working together as a team to ensure that the Emergency Department on both sites continue to deliver outstanding, quality, consultant delivered care to their patients and enjoy good working relationships with Speciality colleagues and other directorates. Applicants for positions on either site should be on the Specialist Register for Emergency Medicine or within 6 months (from the interview date) of award of their CCT in Emergency Medicine. A subspecialty qualification would be welcome, but not mandatory. Instructor status in ALS/ATLS/APLS is preferable and in date provider status is essential.
