Join learning disability charity Brandon Trust as a support worker and discover a genuinely rewarding role with plenty of training, support, a competitive salary, benefits and opportunities to develop your career. You'll support people with learning disabilities and autism at home and in the community to live life more freely. You don't necessarily need experience as we provide full training. You'll join our short breaks service in Clevedon which supports four young people at a time, between the ages of 14-25, to learn the skills they need on their pathway to adulthood. You'll work with many people but will have a small group that you'll be a key worker for. You'll support them to develop their independence through activities such as cooking, cleaning and social skills to enable them to achieve their outcomes. You'll help develop support plans and plan activities with the people you support. Coronavirus update: As a key worker, you'll provide essential services, and you'll receive full training, equipment and support. You will need to be available and able to carry out your role during the Coronavirus pandemic. You'll join a supportive team who are always happy to help, in a fast-paced service, where every day is different, and you'll support individuals to achieve their outcomes. Supporting people with their personal care and medication needs is also key. As a support worker you'll also support people to do things in their community; from shopping and going on day trips to sport and visiting day centres. If you have experience as a care assistant or care worker in a care home, you'll discover we provide plenty of on-going training, support to achieve relevant qualifications and career progression. Respectful of people's differences, you can build professional relationships and have a flexible approach. You can work 24/7 shifts including weekends and evenings / nights.
