Job Description

Responsible for the day to day running of the Transfers team within the Operations department. This is very much a "hands on" role and the successful applicant will be required to provide technical guidance and support to the team. The role will report into the Head of the Transfers Department. The role holder will have responsibility for a team of individuals based in our Edinburgh office covering all of the activities related to processing and handling of certificated and dematerialised in specie transfers of customers' assets for a variety of securities held under various custody arrangements. This role will require regular customer engagement for ongoing service provision as well as understanding any changes to the operational process or structure as a result of changes in customers' propositions. There will also be regular engagement with the Transfers Team based in our Brno (Czech Republic) office. Specific Role Responsibilities Effective Communication; communicate KPIs and team performance to Head of Transfers on a regular basis. Escalation; ensure all processing issues, risks and CASS breaches pertaining to the Transfers function are escalated appropriately to senior management Team Development; responsible for the ongoing training & mentoring of team members. Procedures; ensure the department's procedures are regularly reviewed and maintained implement new reconciliation processes in line with system enhancements & ensure all team members update team procedures. Resource / Workload; allocate and monitor the progress of team tasks on a daily basis. Procedures Enhancement; champion procedure and process enhancements with a particular focus on automation of manual processes which, in turn, will reduce incidence of error and negate our risk exposure. Testing; ensure all transfer related functionality is fully regression tested for all new platform clients prior to launch date Third Party Liaison; maintain and develop broker, Custodian Bank and Third Party Administrator relationships pertaining to sources of information relevant to fund client administration. Record Keeping; maintain internal system records as required in order to ensure that the transfer process is transparent to regulators and external auditors regarding breach and reconciliation recording. Information Systems; make effective use of the Company's information systems that are relevant to the role, raise system issues and suggest improvements to negate incidence of error and risk exposure. CPD; develop professional and technical knowledge and skills via training and development in order to meet Continuing Professional Development requirements. Other tasks; to undertake any other projects/ tasks as may reasonably be required to facilitate the smooth operation of the company. Qualifications: FS Industry recognised qualifications- IAQ/IOC or working towards this Ideally experience of at least 3 years in Investment Operations Management role.
