Job Description
Role Summary: The Project Manager will provide project leadership for high priority projects impacting both internal and customer profitability. This position is responsible for scope, cost, schedule, and risk management as well as quality and customer satisfaction for all assigned projects. Essential Responsibilities: Provide support to bid team in preparation of tenders and assist in contract negotiations with end customers and third-party suppliers. Liaise with product development teams to: fully capture all customer product requirements; track and manage customer product developments; oversee product and project testing lifecycle. Liaise with product support to ensure projects are successfully handed over to the support organisation after Go Live. Responsible for all customer communications covering: attendance at project meetings; production of regular project reports and schedules; managing and reporting of all issues. Responsible for delivery of complete project to agreed schedule and budget: covering system hardware and software as well as ancillary tasks such as customer training. Build customer loyalty through project execution excellence and actively promote quality awareness and improvements to sustain company ISO9000 accreditation. Financially accountable for whole project within agreed delivery budget, with regular financial review of incurred to date expenditure and estimate to complete costs. Responsible for risk assessment and creating/executing plans to mitigate risk to ensure project delivery to agreed schedule & budget. Working as the customer account manager to foster closer ties with end customer and increase GE work portfolio. Mentoring and support of project delivery team. Must be willing/able to travel to customer site (predominately UK & Europe) for short periods. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent Project management experience, or equivalent, delivering complete Real Time / Business Critical Management System (hardware, software and training) to end customer Excellent communication skills to liaise with both internal stakeholders and external customer Proven track record to identify and mitigate project risks Proven track record to manage and resolve project issues throughout full project lifecycle Experienced in large project (>$3M), bid process and contract negotiations. Desired Characteristics: PRINCE2 or PM-BOK certified Experience of delivering projects to global customers Experience in the Electricity business Engineering degree background Experience of the UK Electricity and Metering Industry.
