Chubb are now seeking to recruit a field based Portable Fire Extinguisher (PFX) Service Engineer to report into out of our Cardiff branch, but covering a territory around Pembrokeshire, therefore we are ideally seeking applicants who live within a commutable distance of there. What experience / background are we looking for? You will need to possess previous work experience in a service environment (ideally field based) with basic mechanical engineering aptitude. Preference will be given to individuals who already have knowledge of fire extinguisher servicing ie FETA or BAFE trained but training will be provided if required. You will need to possess a valid Driving Licence and have the ability to undertake daily manual handling. Ideally you will have already gained some sales experience but you will certainly need to demonstrate excellent presentation & communication skills, the self-motivation and resilience to achieve targets, a flexible attitude and a strong work ethic. We can consider customers who can demonstrate an excellent approach to customer service and a willingness to learn. Candidates from a fast paced retail environment would be welcome. What is involved in the role day-to-day? The role will entail visiting customer premises across the region to service fire extinguishers to relevant British Standards whilst adhering to health & safety requirements and continually identifying and delivering further sales opportunities with these customers. 75% of the role holders' time will be dedicated to 1 large client in the area but the remaining period of the week will be spent securing new business opportunities. You will ensure that all work meets company targets and that operating procedures are followed, utilising effective communication skills to identify and liaise with decision makers on site to obtain sign off for work undertaken and agreement to additional sales. Planning activities, journeys, call outs etc to maximise service time and ensure cost efficiency and maintaining adequate van stocks / spares.
