Job Description
Were doing things a little differently. Want to join us on our journey, to help us grow? Founded in 2017 by our CEO, James, and CTO, Callum, were an award winning, technology start-up, based in Hammersmith. With a mission to give people fairer car insurance, in the face of a 15 billion industry, weve built the UKs first real-time pay-by-mile car insurance policies. Through a smart driving app, were bringing the same level of on-demand convenience to car ownership that people now expect from taxis and take-away food. We believe people who drive less should pay less. So, weve done away with the old way and created pay-as-you-go car insurance. Its as simple as that. Our Tech Teams backgrounds are varied, from landscape gardening to photography. While some have a degree, others have come from academy courses such as Makers and General Assembly. However, what we all hold in common is a passion for technology and building an awesome product for our members. And not to brag, but weve won a fair few awards, including Best Insurance App for 2019, and we were ranked 46th in the 2019 Startups 100 index and 27th in the global Insurtech 100 index published by Tllt Ventures & the Insurance Post. Requirements As our QA Engineer , you will be reporting to our Head of Engineering, and working in a multi-discipline, full-stack team, where pairing, collaboration and communication are at the core of everything we do. You will be given the responsibility for coordinating quality and testing across our products, working from the point of inception of an idea to identify conditions of acceptance, to building and extending tools around existing automation, as well as suggesting solutions to any identified quality problems enabling us to continue to support and delight new and existing members. Using your excellent attention to detail and high sense of initiative, you will input directly into deployment and release processes that support delivering high-quality products and services that process millions of quotes and insured miles per month. From identifying test strategies and delivering high quality new features, to maintaining and extending our automated pipelines, we work at pace; we raised over 4000 PRs last year. We use JavaScript/Node.js in our platform, our developers and engineers deploy their own code to many AWS services with zero downtime following Continuous Delivery principles and practices. You will be responsible for ensuring confidentiality of customer data while supporting organisational pace and innovation in a highly regulated industry. Were looking for someone to join our team with: * Previous experience as a QA - using test automation, ideally in Cloud environments, to test API, web and mobile applications * Experience designing tests for both functional and non-functional requirements in an Agile environment * Proficiency in a programming language and common CI/CD tools, we use AWS CodeBuild and CodePipeline * Experience working in a Continuous Delivery based environment If you also have formal test certification ITSQB etc, that's an added bonus, but it's not an essential! 10% Side Project Time Innovation is something that we actively encourage and we want our talent to work on things that excite and interest them.
