Based in our Burnley bakery, and working alongside our General Manager & Manufacturing Manager as part of the site leadership team your role will be to promote and strengthen our existing health and safety culture. Your remit will cover the manufacturing and distribution functions at our Burnley Bakery. Working alongside the functional leaders and managers on the sites, you'll be key in influencing the safe behaviours of our colleagues. With your engaging style and excellent understanding of Health, Safety & Environment you will be responsible for ensuring that best practice standards are developed and maintained on site. Your expertise will allow you to continually provide advice and guidance. Continuous improvement is championed, with the opportunity to identify improvements and learning needs across the business. Crucially, you will be a real team player with excellent communication skills, who can build and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders alike. Essential Ingredients: • A credible leader with an engaging and influential style contributing to the leadership on the site • An ability to coach and develop successors, previous team management experience • Driving a safety culture through recognised channels • Ability to delegate and inspire others to take responsibility for HS&E • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish credibility, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders (internal and external) • Experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing (ideally FMCG) • NEBOSH diploma or equivalent • Excellent understanding of all aspects of Health, Safety & Environment (including legislation, audit handling and management systems) • IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management or Foundation level is preferable however, experience of working on a permitted site or knowledge of environmental systems would be considered • Able, and prepared, to make significant decisions in a timely manner, challenging when appropriate Extra Dough And last and by no means yeast you will want to know what your bread is worth. \t * Family time is important to us so we'll give you five weeks annual leave with an option to purchase an additional 5 days each year \t * Ongoing development and investment in you \t * A share of our Annual profits paid out just in time for Christmas \t * A fully-stocked Kitchen full of our freshly baked products \t * Award winning pension plan \t * Life assurance \t * Discount vouchers and products you'll love \t * Benefits for you and the family for example; Discounted gym membership, Child care vouchers & Cycle to work schemes \t * Family Fun Days, Charity Events & Social activities " Education: Not Specified Employment Type: Permanent/full time
