Job Description

UTEC, part of Acteon Group, is one of the world's largest independent offshore and onshore survey providers. We provide a wide range of survey, positioning and data management services using the most advanced equipment and techniques. The data we generate provides our clients with the information they need to make critical, well informed, business decisions. UTEC are currently looking to hire a Senior Surveyor based in Livingston. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing resources and logistics required for IMDC Projects and for delivery of final deliverables within their region. Their main focus will be on providing Vessel Calibration surveys across the globe as required by UTEC. The IMDC Senior Surveyor will continually monitor and improve procedures to ensure quality results are achieved. The successful candidate will ideally be multi-skilled and have experience of other survey types such as topographic and utility surveys. Duties + Manage complete lifecycle of projects, from award phase, through planning, execution, monitoring, completion and closeout phases, as well as post-completion evaluation and review + Confirm and accept transfer of project material generated during the bid stage to project teams, including contract requirements, technical specifications, and commercial terms needed for proper execution of projects + Oversee project execution and be responsible for identification, documentation and action on contractual variations as they arise + Assist other offices in planning and resource allocation + Liaise with clients on company execution of projects and recording of key performance indicators + Identify and mitigate potential technical, commercial, QHSE risks for assigned projects + Conduct site and client visits as required + Prepare method statements and risk assessments for project work + Support preparation of standard procedures for specific tasks + Provide technical input to tenders as required including technical support to other UTEC offices + Prepare and implement forecasting plans and budgets in collaboration with the Operations Manager + Promote Company services during day-to-day contact with existing and potential clients + Provide relevant information to support the monitoring of project costs (3rd party and internal) against revenue on a daily basis, and support the Operations Manager in preparing weekly and monthly tracking reports of estimated revenues and costs for your region + Regularly review project costs within the time frame required for Operations Manager and accounts department to process and report at regional monthly P&L meeting + Create/Approve supplier purchase orders and approve supplier invoices for procurement (within your authority and responsibility) within the timeframe required for the accounting department to process and report at regional monthly P&L meeting + Make recommendations for CAPEX asset purchases and complete approval for expenditure (AFE) as required + Support the Operations Manager in the personnel performance reviews/appraisals for your direct reports, and provide specific performance data/feedback to supervisors of non-direct reports assigned to your projects + Help identify HSE, technical and personal development training needs within the team + Review and approve timesheets & expenses Required SkillsRequired Experience + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience + Experience in Geospatial/Industrial Measurement industry required + Vessel calibration experience essential to the role + Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others + Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is essential + Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision + Ability to work both independently and within teams + Must hold a valid passport free from status or restrictive conditions that preclude travel to and work in countries where the company routinely operates
