Solution Architect - Information Management

The Solution Architect role within the Information Management Centre of Excellence (IM COE) will ensure that our technical solutions effectively meet business requirements while ensuring a high degree of maintainability and supportability. This position will be aligned to the Commercial IT - Global Medical customer area addressing needs focused on data management, reporting and analytics. The Solution Architect will design, develop and deliver solutions based on established enterprise architecture models and patterns. This is a hands-on position that requires the ability to lead design activities, review the work of others (mainly developers) on the team, and to participate in coding and artifact creation. This role will also be expected to identify and share opportunities to improve delivery patterns and models across the IM COE. Key to success will be balancing the day-to-day requirement to deliver solutions using approved architecture with the passion to drive continuous improvement through identification and influencing the broader team toward new ideas and approaches. Required Skills & Knowledge + Relevant technical degree or equivalent + Proven development/design experience + Experience developing innovative solutions, blueprints, and standards for solution design. + Experience working in an agile team with resources working in different timezones. + Experience as a technical lead driving a collaborative culture while at the same time ensuring outcomes are of the highest quality. + Continuous Improvement / Continuous Development (CI/CD) experience to drive and reinforce DevOps into the team. + Data-oriented technical experience with AWS: emr, Redshift, Athena, Glue, S3. + ETL / DDL development experience. + Hands on experience working with a team leveraging GIT workflow Preferred Skills & Knowledge + Experience in developing/maturing an architectural practice + Experience with data typically used in commercial pharmaceuticals. + Experience of developing and managing relationships with 3rd party suppliers + Other AWS experience: ec2, data pipelines, lamba, api gateway and more + Airflow (or other orchestration tool) experience. + MicroStrategy experience. + Bitbucket & Bamboo experience + Data modelling experience + Python development experience
