About The Team: Our Water and Energy team is involved in some of the most complex and technically challenging projects in the UK. We have a strong heritage in the water industry and are wishing to grow and strengthen our structural team for both the new water AMP period and growing electrical market. The type of projects is varied and includes the world leading Thames Tideway and Elproject, the prestigious Welsh Water Alliance, the Canal and River Trust as well as new advanced projects within the Electricity transmission sector. Skills and Experience: Minimum Qualifications: * Civil or Structural Engineering degree * Active ambition to achieve chartered status Essential Experience and Personal Attributes * Analysis and design of structures in all materials - particularly concrete design skills * Experience with industry standard software (pref TEDDS, ROBOT, Masterseries) and working in the digital engineering environment (REVIT, Navisworks) * Design experience within civil engineering structures * Knowledge of Eurocodes (and British Standards) * An outgoing personality but with capability to focus on application to your design tasks * Good team and interpersonal skills * Experience in briefing technicians * Enthusiasm for design and ability to receive and act upon instruction to produce design solutions Additional Preferred Experience: * Working with and for contractor clients * Electricity sector design experience * Capability with REVIT Structure software and familiarity with 3D modelling and Navisworks * Design for offsite build and manufacture (precast and structural steelwork) Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: * Project structural design activities - analysis and design * Design documentation preparation - calculations, reports and drawings * Compliance with relevant H & S regulations and to follow company procedures * Communication Project Design leads and discipline leads * To proactively deliver technical solutions as guided by your Senior and Principal Engineers * To be technically innovative in solution of project demands * To learn quickly from your technical peers and brief junior/technical team members * Work and communicate with Arcadis Global Design Centres * Technical understanding of other key disciplines (Geotech, hydraulic, M&E, environmental etc) * Be financially aware of your own impact on project budget and timescales Why Arcadis?
