MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE: The Trust has decided to embrace quality as the overarching principle for the organisation and set its longer-term mission to improve the quality of life for all we serve. The primary purpose of the Quality Improvement (QI) programme is to oversee the transformation of the culture of the Trust to one of continuous improvement which is delivered through participation of all staff in the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a large number of Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) / small-scale projects via a multi-year organisation-wide programme. The Programme is unique one for the organisation in terms of breadth, depth and timescale. Communications and engagement form a key pillar of the QI programme. The QI communications and events officer will be responsible for: Developing and implementing a communications strategy for the department Internal and external communications (through a variety of channels and platforms) Leading on the planning of a number of events for both internal and external stakeholders Supporting the department with a high standard of storytelling We are seeking an enthusiastic, highly organised and creative individual. The post requires an ability to work flexibly in a changing environment, an understanding of digital media, CMS (Wordpress) and a willingness to learn new systems. The role requires excellent writing, editing and multimedia skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff (Board to frontline team), service users, carers and external key stakeholders. The Communications and Events Officer will work on the day-to-day delivery of all communications assigned events, including: Producing digital content including films, copy, photos and other content Developing and maintaining the QI microsite (qi.elft.nhs.uk) and social media channels Event planning (annual conference, open days, learning sessions) Offering journalistic oversight to team to write, editing and proof read stories Within the QI department, there is a strong emphasis on all team members working flexibly in order to achieve programme related goals.
