This is a mobile role that offers you far more than just a normal 9-5 Opticians job. Working as part of a team, your role of the Optical Assistant will play a major part within the business and help to make a real difference to our patient's lives. You will travel to different locations/ nursing homes across the region, building engaged relationships with home care managers, nurses, care staff and their residents. We embrace diversity and are committed to building a versatile environment for all employees. + You will transport colleagues to residential care homes throughout the region to deliver sight tests and fitting of spectacles to the residents; completing any immediate home requests such as repairs or adjustments + You will follow the standard operating procedures on 'Running a Clinic' & 'Deliveries' + You will ensure the clinics are prepared with sufficient equipment, paperwork and complete all patient packs correctly and in line with business standards + Working closely with the Optometrist on test days you will ensure the clinic is running on time and the patients are pre-screened and ready to be seen by the Optometrist + Dilation of patients under supervision of the Optometrist + You will use the manual contact tonometer take accurate intra ocular pressure readings of the patient's eyes + You will dispose of any clinical waste as per Company guidelines + You will ensure all patient record cards and lifestyle questionnaires are fully completed with accurate information together with treating all patients with respect and dignity + Use the manual focimeter to make accurate measurements of their previous glasses + You will support the patient in choosing the most useful and cost-effective solution for their eyecare needs. + You will take accurate dispensing measurements, including PD's, Lens & Frame Size and length to bend + You will communicate with the office and management team daily + Collecting accurate patient details, you will process any private payments with the next of kin + You will actively support and participate in the weekly team meeting + As with all employees, you will align with Visioncall's health and safety policy and practices, working towards our organisational values + Awareness of the commercial aims and objectives of the Company + Communicate skills + Experience in pre testing with the ability of dispensing at all levels including SV, Bi-focal and Varifocals + You must be confident in your ability to carry our minor repairs and adjustments whilst on site + Accurately complete the NHS GOS forms and have a sound understanding of the voucher values + For insurance purposes you must have a minimum of 3 years driving experience and be a safe and confident driver + You must be computer literate and able to use a variety of software packages with confidence + Highly organised with an excellent attention to detail, displaying a high degree of accuracy in your work + Excellent customer service skills and able to problem solve + Confidently work in a fast paced role and using your initiative to manage your day to day responsibilities Job ID: 2020-1164 External Company Name: Visioncall Limited External Company URL: www.visioncall.com Address Line 1: Suite 57-59, Unit 5, Stansted Courtyard
