Job Description

1. Purpose of Job: To support the Derwent Marketing Team with the delivery of the brand's marketing plans, as well as actively contributing to them, liaising with internal and external stakeholders across the Group 2. Principle Accountabilities & Key Tasks: + Provide general support and assistance to all areas within the marketing and sales team: Product Management, Brand and Communications and Digital + Develop and assist with organisation of trade shows and conferences including internal events. Liaising with Lillyhall on marketing stock orders and external vendors eg. print supply on the development of samples and event materials. + Work with PR agency to supply press samples, develop press releases and develop relationships with artists and organisations/brands + Asist with the organisation and execution of research groups to gain consumer insight into new product development and brand development + Support brand communications with the development of marketing collateral for NPD launches, GTM launch campaigns, marketing material such as Price Lists and brand campaigns such as the Derwent Art Prize + Marcoms support for the Derwent Pencil Museum, Co-ordinate the advertising schedule and developing marketing assets to support Pencil Museum annual marketing plans + Create creative briefs for creation of marketing communications assets and liaise with internal design studio on their completion, manage weekly work priorities with studio and marketing team + Manage ongoing packaging updates with design studio including re-brand updates and new packaging artwork for NPD launches + Manage photography shoots for NPD launches and brand campaigns providing creative direction, arranging samples and props, models etc. Liaise with Brand Manager and Trade Marketing Executive on overall look and feel and direction + Manage Train the Trainer content development with brand manager to ensure it is up to date and share assets with regional distributors + Maintain merchandising standards and stock levels in creative area within department + Item set ups, BOMs and PIM updates for marcoms materials + Distribution of samples to support new product launches + Store audits, competitor analysis and ad hoc research to support product and brand team + Manage database of artists/influencers who support Derwent marketing team on creation of content for NPD launches and brand awareness/brand campaigns + Other tasks as required to deliver the marketing plans such as new supplier set-up, raising pruchase orders, and managing an allocated makreting spend for photography, SWAG items, translations and artists copywriting. 3. Knowledge & Experience: + Passion for marketing + Preferably a minimum of 1 years' previous experience in a broad marketing role, ideally with marketing communications experience + Good general level of education. + Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint + An awareness of general retail, consumer and packaging trends + Good communication skills both verbal and written + Ability to think creatively about a project, give design direction and give creative input + Adaptable and flexible + Detailed and results orientated + An individual with a high degree of self-motivation with the ability to multi-task. + Eager to learn, pro-active + Must be a team player + Flexibility to travel within the UK (i.e. Derwent Pencil Museum, Keswick and Derwent factory near Workington in Cumbria) Derwent The Cumberland Pencil Company, better known for its brand name Derwent, is an important division of ACCO Brands Europe and is a leading manufacturer of fine art pencils and distributes these and other fine art materials across the UK, and over 85 countries worldwide.
