**For Current Gilead Employees and Contractors:** Please log onto your Internal Career Site at to apply for this job. **Job Description** **Therapeutic Specialist - Inflammation (Rheumatology)** We are currently in the process of building up a new Sales team in the United Kingdom and Ireland (UK&I) and we are looking for Therapeutic Specialists to join our new Inflammation Business Unit (rheumatology) in all UK&I regions. In this role you will be one of the key contributors in our new Inflammation franchise, providing patients and healthcare professionals access to our life-saving drugs. The focus will be on specialised secondary care physicians who provide treatment to patients with RA & other rheumatological conditions. Our Therapeutic Specialists are enthusiastic about our patient-centric approach and expert in discussing and explaining the characteristics and benefits of our treatment(s) in a highly scientific and dynamic healthcare environment **Specific responsibilities** + Prepare business plan for own territory, assign targets and communicate required actions to achieve goals. With guidance, initiate systems to monitor sales progress and action plans + Responsible for achieving sales targets in assigned territory + Responsible for working in partnership with regional Market Access colleagues to ensure local access is in place to provide Gilead medicines + Build and extend business relationships with key customers, accounts and relevant key opinion leaders Responsible for setting and achieving customer contact plans and delivering on relating KPIS + Manage territory budgets for customer contacts, speaker events and other miscellaneous external expenditures + May represent company at professional events and promote company products at such events + Work co-operatively with Medical Science Liaisons, National Account Managers, Marketing and Market Access on various cross-functional projects. + Assist in the identification and resolution of issues and opportunities, and communicate proactively to Marketing and Sales management + Complete necessary administrative tasks in a timely manner e.g. updating customer database, expenses, etc. + Responsible for achieving the competency levels required in the role + Compliance with country regulations and code of practice at all times **Knowledge, experience and skills** + The ideal candidate will have a passion and the ambition for commercialising breakthrough medicine in specialty care, a strong competitive and commercial mindset, robust scientific acumen and a tactical approach + Prior experience in the therapeutic field of rheumatology is preferred but not mandatory. Prior experience in a highly competitive, specialist therapy area is required. **Previous therapeutic indication with high scientific emphasis is highly desired** + **Must show demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to a changing environment, understanding new business challenges and how creative solutions can help overcome them** + Must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and build working relationships internally and externally.
