Job Description

Role Summary: Based in Nailsea, specializing on Subsea Production Systems the Lead Cost Controller is a key part of the Project Execution team for Baker Hughes. The role provides detailed cost review and analysis to the project execution team and other stakeholders including the SPS Project Cost Leader & Project Director. In the role you will be part of a team of 11 and be responsible for budget management and cost performance on a number of projects within PCS (Production Control Systems) product line of the SPS business. The role will involve regular use of Oracle ERP system. The successful candidate will quickly acquire the ability to analyse and explain financial transactions to financial and non-financial stakeholders. The role will take on financial control of both customer facing projects and larger EPC projects, where you will work together with other members of the project finance team to jointly managing budgets of in excess of $500M. For the PCS scope you will be responsible for forecasting project spend profiles as well as reporting any variances in expected total project cost. Essential Responsibilities: + Projectcost control for a portfolio of projects.Managing the impact of change orders and identifying and reportingchanges in expected cost for project scope. + Quarterlyforecasting of spend profile across projects, reflecting project execution inline with the project plan. + QuarterlyProject Cost Review (PCR) to validate total project cost to wider SPSmanagement team. + Rootcause analysis of cost variances to budget. + Feedbackof execution cost variances to tender costing teams improving cost forecastaccuracy. + Managementof cost budgets within Oracle ERP. + Reportingof any quarterly volume variance through to SPS QMI + Supportthe SPS cash collection effort by maintaining project focus on timelyachievement of project cash milestones.
