Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures leading-edge blood glucose monitoring technology for use in both home and hospital settings, including our revolutionary Freestyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System. In our Centre of Excellence in Witney, we design, develop and manufacture test strips and biosensors which are used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day-to-day management of diabetes. As a result of strong business growth, industry-leading product development in the biosensor business and a long-term commitment to manufacturing and innovation in our Witney Centre of Excellence, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Design QA and Quality Systems Manager to join our expanding highly skilled team. Reporting to the Quality Director, this role will lead and develop design and validation strategies for new and existing products and processes to ensure divisional goals are met. The role will see you influence project teams to develop and implement strategies on significant global projects such as FreeStyle Libre and new Product Introductions), collaborate with communities of best practices (both divisional and corporate), and drive continuous improvement across quality. Leading and developing your team, you will oversee document control and training, validation, design and quality systems projects, with the ultimate aim of talent growth and functional organisational capability enhancement alongside delivery of departmental/function key performance indicators. The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level, preferably in a Science, Technology, Quality or Engineering discipline, and bring a wealth of Design and Validation experience from the Medical Device industry. You will be a natural people leader, adept at identifying and developing talent, setting people strategies, and taking your team on a journey to deliver key metrics and functional improvements.
