OUR IMPACT - COMMODITIES TECHNOLOGY The Commodities desk is a key trading desk within the Goldman Sachs FICC (Fixed Income Currency and Commodities) Division. The Commodities business is global in nature, and the Technology teams work alongside the businesses in London, New York and Singapore. The business covers a wide array of products including electricity, metals, gas, emissions, oil and agriculture, and ranges from electronic trading of vanilla products to complex bespoke physical deals. The Commodities Technology team interacts directly with Trading and Sales to develop trading systems to achieve their business goals. It is a fast paced environment where individuals with strong development and interpersonal skills gain a unique insight into how financial markets work. Our team of engineers builds solutions to the most complex problems. We provide the systems and tools for the Commodities business to trade, to manage their risk, and to generate trade ideas. RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS YOUR IMPACT We are seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial individual to join the London Commodities Technology team and work within our front office development team. The Commodities business is extremely focused on Technology, so this role provides many challenging and rewarding opportunities for the successful candidate. The candidate will work directly with engineers, traders and salespeople. The role will involve working on a wide range of projects, including trading and risk management applications, new business development and electronic trading. There will be opportunities to work on brand new projects, with the latest full stack web technologies, Java and the GS object oriented database (SecDB). The candidate will directly experience the impact of their work as they see the Commodities business use their systems on a daily basis. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FORBASIC QUALIFICATIONS + Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related STEM discipline + Strong analytical and programming skills in any language + Ability to quickly learn new languages and technologies + Strong written and verbal communication skills + Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment + Comfortable multi-tasking, managing multiple stakeholders and working as part of a team + Can apply an entrepreneurial approach and passion to problem solving and product development PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS + Background in finance preferred but not mandatory ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHS ABOUT GOLDMAN SACHSAt Goldman Sachs, we commit our people, capital and ideas to help our clients, shareholders and the communities we serve to grow.
