Profile: You will work within a highly focused global development team who support critical firm functions such as Legal, Compliance and Operations. The division develops strategic solutions that support key business processes, including Settlements, Confirmations, Regulatory Reporting, Position Keeping, Anti-Money Laundering and Trade Surveillance. Beyond the delivery for the functional aspects of the systems and business flows, the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to improving the technology platform and drive the system towards a more robust development and deployment model across the tech stack to help the business sustain high volume and revenue growth. Primary Responsibilities: You will work as part of a collaborative agile development teams within your role you will be required to liaise directly with a variety of stakeholders throughout the firm. The key requirement of the role is a strong development background along with problem solving skills. You will develop functionality in an iterative fashion, liaising with the business analysts, product owners & other developers within the scrum team. You will be part of a progressive team building systems that are critical to the business and solving problems to meet the ever-changing regulatory environment. This is a hands-on role with the expectation that you will be responsible for continuously improving the quality of our system and codebase including code reviews and refactoring where necessary. Skills Required: -Experience of agile and scrum methodologies -Core Java -Shell scripting -SQL and Relational Databases such as DB2 -Analyse and scale systems -Experience with agile and lean methodologies -Experience working with listed and cash flows for various regulations -Build & agile - Ant, Gradle/Maven, Sonar, Jenkins/Hudson, GIT -Sound understanding of Design and Programming Skills Desired: -Integration technologies - MQ/Xml/SOAP/JSON/Protocol Buffers/Spring Morgan Stanley is an equal opportunities employer.
