The purpose of the Global Rights Licensing co-ordinator is to aid in the smooth operation of the Global Rights Licensing Department by assisting in the coordination of the licensing activities of the rights team and their international publishers. The co-ordinator touches every facet of operations within the group in assisting the Licensing team. The coordinator will liaise with Pearson offices and third party publishers globally. This position will require knowledge of rights sales processes (preferably of the current Pearson Ed systems) as well as industry standards. A working knowledge of copyright law would be an advantage. Key Accountabilities: Ideally you will have previous administrative experience, good interpersonal and organisational skills and a keen eye for detail. You will need to be able to manage a busy and varied workload and have a proactive, enthusiastic and flexible attitude. International experience would be a definite advantage. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance) * Supports Rights Managers in both pre and post deal fulfilment for both Third parties and for Affiliates where required * Request efiles and review PDFS, or samples and to liaise with 3rd parties and Affiliates as required * Generate sampling report pre and post contract activity Chase third parties for payment of material invoices as advised * Support Rights Managers by scanning contracts on their return * Track outstanding affiliate contracts and chase for return where necessary. * Communicate with accounting department, Operations Manager and Rights Managers to update errors and missing sales data in the licensing database * Update Licensing database on deal completion and generate contracts in relevant territories as required but with a focus on Asia * Processing all 3rd party permissions logs * Contact 3rd party publishers for translation copies or proof of publication in relevant territories but with a focus on Asia * Take on additional projects as needed REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE (Knowledge and experience necessary to do job) Competencies Essential: * Proven problem solving skills * Strong organisational skills * Self motivated * Ability to manage a busy and varied workload * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Ability to plan time effectively and prioritise tasks * Able to work both in a team and on their own * Demonstrate attention to detail Desirable: * IT qualification e.g. C&G - basic computer admin skills * Knowledge of copyright law * Rights training (e.g. Selling Rights course)
