Purpose of the role You will be on a 2-year training programme, rotating between a range of different laboratories; covering both pharmaceutical and food science, to learn and carry out lab work, whilst undertaking a level 4 qualification in Chemistry. This, combined with the work-based learning, will help you obtain the nationally recognised award of Registered Science Technician (RSciTech). Upon completion of the training programme, you will have the opportunity to remain as permanent laboratory technician at RSSL. Course: Higher National Certificate (HNC): Chemistry, HNC Higher Apprenticeship Work and Study Split: To support your education, whilst you are employed under the apprenticeship scheme, you will be eligible to utilize 20% of your time towards your studies. This could be one day a week, or you can save them up for your revision and exams. Post Apprenticeship completion: Upon completion of the training programme, you will have the opportunity to remain as permanent laboratory technician at RSSL. Qualifications Firstly, you'll need a good academic background. This will need to include 3 A-levels at C grade or above (or equivalent) , one of which must be Chemistry and preferably including Maths. You will need a minimum of five GCSE's at grade 9-5 (equivalent to A*-C), including Maths, English and a Science (preferably Chemistry). You'll need to be enthusiastic, eager to learn and develop and with strong interpersonal skills.
