PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To create Spline grinding and inspection programs using various software's, online program prove out for various parts of aero engine and to provide measurement solutions that could reduce the inspection time. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES + Create / update the Spline Inspect programs in various software's like Klingelnberg etc., for complex aero engine components + Create Spline grinding programs (Internal Grinding) for Aeroengine components using GearPro + Identify the datum, fixture and clamping locations which affects the measurement capability + To identify the features that can be measured in CMM & Buyoff with manufacturing engineer + To create offline program to re-inspect the features identified as defective in Production measurement + Online prove out, repeatability and correlation study in line with the existing measurement method + Trouble shooting the CMM machine interruptions during the prove out of parts + Independent validation of production programs as per customer standard + Identify the measurement Limitation features and document it + Program buy off with customer and release for production COMPETENCIES & SKILLS + Good knowledge on various manufacturing processes + Fully conversant reading engineering & manufacturing drawings + Should have hands on experience on Spline Grinding + Should have hands on experience in metrology (Measurement by First Principles) + Sound knowledge interpreting the GD&T (standards ASME Y 14.5, JES 161) + Sound knowledge in measurements system analysis (MSA) + Hands on experience in using all types of Measuring & Testing equipment, both contact - non-contact, analogue & digital + Able to support root cause analysis and implementation of problem solving techniques + Working knowledge on concessions, containment procedures and traceability techniques + Awareness of aerospace quality requirements (AS9100, various ISO) + PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Good Communication & Interpersonal skillsCustomer FocusOrganizational AgilityProblem solving abilityProactive EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS Graduate in Mechanical Engineering / Diploma or equivalent certificationMinimum hands on experience in manufacturing engineering 3-8 years at least 2 years' experience in offline programming (MCOSMOS, PCDMIS & CALYPSO)Should have background on Quality Management Systems IT SYSTEMS & SOFTWARE SKILLS MS Office tools: MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project.Analysis tools: Minitab, Measurlink, PolyworksCAD tools: UG/NX (strong knowledge)Product Lifecycle Management: TeamcenterCMM Software: MCOSMOS, PCDMIS & CALYPSO ADDITIONAL NON-MANDATORY SKILLS Good understanding of Aerospace Manufacturing EnvironmentGood understanding of Gas Turbine Engine componentsHands on experience in Process planning for precision machined components - Aero components preferredHands on experience in Tool design (Jigs and Fixtures)Experience in VBA coding DESIRED PROFILE Willing to travel to the Customer site & Service providers as requiredProactive approach to work in a fast paced environmentSelf-Motivated DISCLAIMER: Due to the nature of work candidates should be UK citizen/ EU Citizen/ Valid work permit holder.
