Job Description

Key Accountabilities Work with Project Managers to agree the work breakdown structure and documentation needs for analysis work packages. Read and comprehend detailed business requirements; validate that these requirements are specific, defined and achievable. Produce functional specifications that describe the required solution. These documents should be clear, comprehensive and easy for the development team to use when designing the technical solution. Produce and maintain high quality Analysis artefacts throughout the project lifecycle Support the Development team to translate functional specifications into technical specifications and implementation. Utilize data analysis skills to verify that inbound data meets expectations, investigate defects and any data gaps are addressed appropriately. Based on the projects data requirements, determine appropriate enhancements to the data model ; apply relevant data modelling techniques and follow the governance process for approval for data model updates. Define the functional and regression test approaches and environment configuration Manage the creation of a test plan and test cases by the Test team for deliveries and review test observations from the Test team and manage the closure of issues for deliveries Report RAIDs (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) and regular status updates on analysis deliveries including status against milestones and propose mitigating actions where possible. Be the responsible person / sole point of contact for key deliveries and coordinate between business, project management and project leads to meet deliverables Work to achieve excellent business understanding including knowledge on products and data received into the system, and understanding of how the platform is used to support regulatory reporting processes. Person Specification 1. Relational Databases Good knowledge of relational databases. Data Analysis: ability to interpret a large database schema and identify data gaps. SQL Skills: ability to prepare and execute moderately-complex SQL. Knowledge of logical data modelling. Knowledge of different data modelling tools and techniques. 2. Business Analysis Involvement in projects with feed based and transactional processing. Reviewing Business Requirements documents. Understanding dependencies within business processes, differentiate must have and nice-to-have functionality and identify key data requirements. Sole author of functional specifications: Understanding and challenging user requirements and clearly documenting functionality for developers. Analysis of existing IT / business processes to gather requirements. Strong communication with developers to resolve technical issues. Experience defining data transformation / ETL processes 3. Background: Banking functions: Ability to describe the role of Front Office, Operations, Finance and Product Control Good Banking domain knowledge of two or more of the following areas: Regulatory Reporting, Credit Risk, Retail, Balance Sheet Management Ability to describe phases of Software Development Lifecycle and the role of the BA within each phase. Proven self-starter, able to use initiative and employ a high degree of innovative thinking; dedicated and reliable, with a strong delivery focus and willingness to work toward stretching targets under pressure. Demonstrates attention to detail with high standards for quality in previous projects Strong team player who can be highly effective and efficient in a virtual environment, across multiple regions.
