The Role To teach on a range of courses within a programme area and contribute towards enabling the successful achievement of enrolled learners. To carry out all associated duties in line with the College strategic priorities and The Role of the Professional Lecturer Document. In addition, Lecturers have a responsibility to carry out activities that develop his/her scholarly research and/or professional expertise relevant to their profession or subject discipline. Principal Accountabilities Teaching, Learning & Assessment * To deliver high quality teaching on a range of courses in an appropriate area of the curriculum. * To implement curriculum and course development within the area of work. * To develop schemes of work and learning materials in line with course aims, objectives, mode of assessment and accreditation. * To contribute effectively to teamwork and ensure learners are assessed in accordance with the relevant awarding bodies. * Keep-up-to-date with developments (technological and pedagogical) in e learning and ILT and develop the use of VLE and other E-Learning Systems that engage learning. * To work with the course team to review the course and participate in the College quality assurance cycle and to complete course reviews and action plans. * To attend and contribute to all relevant team meetings and to offer and provide support to team members. * To advise learners of mode of assessment and ensure assignments are forwarded to learners after internal verification has taken place. * Responsible towards assessment and contextualised feedbacks respecting the deadlines towards assessment. * Check Turn it in regularly to ensure that assessments are completed in a timely manner and the feedback sent to the Programme Leader /Director of Studies. Supporting Students * To take part in enrolment and induction programmes. * To act as a Personal Tutor for taught units. To meet students regularly on an individual basis to discuss academic progress and to support students in their choice of progression routes. To deal with those students who are not performing to required standards in line with College procedures. * To identify students requiring extra support and refer them to Cohort Leaders for appropriate support. * To maintain high standards of student conduct. * To support students with resubmission requirements. * To assist where appropriate, with the establishment and monitoring of student work placements. Essential Administration * To keep accurate and updated unit and student records, including registers, reports, including student assessment and achievement records. * To provide accurate course and student information as required by the College. * To monitor student attendance and timekeeping by ensuring that registers are completed daily. * To complete termly reports on students' progress, as required, and to write references as required. * To attend team meetings and contribute to Quality Assurance reviews and audits. General * To be aware of the principles of safeguarding children and young people as they apply to the role with the College. Actively promote and implement the College's Safeguarding, well-being and PREVENT Policies. * Maintain confidentiality in relation to all college information and to comply with General Data Protection Regulation. * To be involved in College staff development and training schemes and participate in Personal Development Review procedures within the College. * To ad
