Job Description

This is a Test Lead role (test strategy, approach, plans & exit reports), but also a hands on infrastructure testing role in all environments (including read only access in Prod) • Scoping, agreeing & reviewing the 3rd party contractor team test plans & tests • Demonstrable experience of Non Functional Testing (e.g. backups, monitoring, logging, infrastructure upgrades, networks, F5s, firewalls) • Demonstrable experience of BC/DR Testing • Experience of service management & operations (ITIL) • Accept software from 3rd party • Produce test strategy, approach and plans based on the functional and non-functional specification provided, engaging with Analysts, Testers and Architects • Provide technical leadership within the team, sharing knowledge and skills and providing mentoring support to others • Develop and maintain an understanding of core processes and associated application from stakeholder perspective • Research and document emerging technologies and identify the opportunities and risks these may present to Arqiva e.g. security measures • Identify cross-platform compatibility and performance issues during testing phase of development • Liaise with business users to agree test strategies and life cycle processes • Provide test assurance for 3rd party and contractor teams • Prior, recent and demonstrable experience in a Senior or Lead Test role • Extensive test experience across a range of technologies and platforms, with proven ability to control and own testing at every stage of solution delivery • Experience of leading multiple test work-streams or acting as Lead Test on a programme of work • Able to provide test input across solutions delivery to shape testing best practice and provide project governance • Lead teams of testers or business users through User and Operational Acceptance Testing spanning multi-month, multi-year deliveries • Demonstrable experience of testing functional and non-functional requirements, working with automation teams, tools and technologies • Comfortable working as a part of technical teams and quickly able to familiarise complex, industry specific technology and terminology • Adept at explaining technical complexities in a straight-forward manner • Able to demonstrate clear communication and collaboration skills • Passionate about building and delivering quality solutions and providing exceptional service across every interaction • Experience of working within sequential (Waterfall) and incremental (Agile) delivery teams • Able to deliver clear, concise test metrics to inform stakeholder decision making across the leadership hierarchy up to board level • Possesses proven experience of a wide range of test techniques with in-depth knowledge of how and when they should be applied • Exposure to and extensive knowledge of international testing standards (ISTQB Foundation Certificate, BS 7925-1, ISO 2911)
