Field Customer Support Engineer A scientific instrument sales and service company, specialised in selling tablet testing systems to pharmaceutical laboratories, is looking for a Field Customer Support Engineer. The successful candidate will have a scientific background and proven record of working in a GXP laboratory, preferably in a technical role. Excellent troubleshooting skills, and the ability to consistently perform in a client-facing capacity are required. The ability to perform and document detailed technical and analytical tasks in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining company and client standards is essential. They should be able to demonstrate excellent time management skills, and be able to work independently and remotely, both at client sites and from home. The jobholder will be expected to provide frontline breakdown support and repair services to customers across the UK, and to complete these repairs in a safe, logical and timely manner. Whilst carrying out site visits, they will be required to develop good working relationships with clients to support the Business Development Team in the North. When not out in the field the successful applicant will be required to carry out administrative tasks to support the Business Development and Service team and continuous improvement of the Company's Quality Management System. The applicant will be required to spend a day at the Omicron head office on a semi regular basis. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE -Educated to degree level in a Chemistry, or Scientifically related field. -A minimum of two years' experience working in a GXP or compliant analytical laboratory environment, preferably in a technical capacity. -Effective communication and presentation skills. -Highly organised with good time management skills. -Computer Literate. -Able to work unsupervised and to be self-motivating. -Full, clean, valid UK driving license. -Valid UK working permit or visa, with a minimum 12 month renewal date. -Working knowledge in one or more of the following analytical techniques: HPLC, GC, Dissolution, UV Spectroscopy, Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) would be advantageous ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -The job will entail travelling throughout the UK with some overnight stays each month. -Occasional international travel may be required, in Europe and North America. -Full training in company products and procedures will be provided. -Part of the remuneration package will be performance related. LOCATION -Remote working from home and at customer sites. -Preferred residential locations are M1 corridor from Nottingham to Leeds and surrounding area.
