Room Manager / Forest School Leader

Salary: £18,000 - £21,000 depending on experience Industry: Childcare Sector: Nursery Job ID: 32041 We are looking for a Assistant Room Manager or Room Manager / Forest School Leader to join a friendly family run nursery group who see their team as their best asset to achieve their goals of being a leading childcare provider. The successful candidate will be working alongside our Outdoor Curriculum Manager to enrich our outdoor learning experiences and support the delivery of an engaging outdoor curriculum. What Qualifications & Experience are we looking for? * A relevant level 3 qualification in early years or above * Level 1 - Level 3 Forest School qualification * Minimum of 2 years working in a senior role within a childcare setting * Providing care and education to children from a wide range of backgrounds, including those with special educational needs * Experience of effectively motivating, leading and managing a small team * Staff deployment * First aid, basic food hygiene & basic health and safety all desirable What skills & Attributes are we looking for? * Excellent understanding of the needs of young children * Thorough knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage, including the Welfare Requirements * Safeguarding children issues and procedures * Equalities issues and implementation and development of equal opportunity practices * Ability to observe and assess children's development * Have a warm and positive approach to children * Record keeping and report * Ability to develop good working relationships with parents and other service providers * Ability to co-operate and adhere to health and safety policy, practices and instructions * Flexibility including the ability to cope with changing needs and demands * Able to work on own initiative and manage own workload * Ability to operate the nursery management software for preparation of data as required by the manager or proprietors * Leadership skills including the ability to offer positive encouragement and support * Approachable, reliable and conscientious * Flexible and creative approach to problem solving For a confidential initial conversation, contact us today.
