QA Embedded Tester
Overview
Job Description
Reporting to the QA Project Lead, the embedded tester will be working within a small mobile games development team in an agile environment. They should be a good communicator with excellent people skills and strong technical skills. The candidate would be expected to own the testing for significant aspects of one of our mobile projects, completing in-house testing and regression. The candidate must be self-motivated, well organised and have a real passion for QA. Our QA philosophy is centred around close collaboration with the development team, focussing on bug prevention over detection. QA at Hutch are embedded within the development teams and form strong partnerships with the developers and the production team. QA is not seen as a service, it is a partnership. Requirements * Design and execute functional and regression test plans (Manual Testing) * Working embedded within the development team completing in-house testing and bug regression Attending and contributing to sprint planning, retrospectives, and the daily scrums. * Reporting on build status * Tracking bug progress / database management * Implementation of bug prevention methods * Pro-active risk analysis to identify key areas of testing * Customer support Desired Skills and Experience: * A good understanding of Agile development & testing * Experience working embedded within a development team, ideally in Mobile games * Mobile application testing experience (iOS/Android) - functional & non-functional * Knowledge of the games development lifecycle * Experience with JIRA or other bug tracking systems * An understanding of the free to play business model and mobile games market * Good attention to detail * Calm under pressure with a proactive attitude * Excellent communicator * A desire to self improve; pursue training and development activities, strive to continuously build knowledge and skills * Avid gamer (particularly F2P mobile games) * Minimum 1 years experience in either games industry QA or in software testing, ideally with some time spent embedded within a development team.
