Where in the world of OVO will I be working? You will be working within OVOs newly formed Procurement Team which sits within the Finance area, reporting to the OVO Head of Procurement Buying goods or services is an essential part of OVO's business. It enables us to deliver a whole range of products to our customers - marketing campaigns, smart meters and everything in between The Procurement Team's objectives are: * Driving aggressive commercial benefits to support OVOs targets * Ensuring the Procurement Policy and process is followed, reducing risks and driving compliance whilst still allowing OVO to operate in an agile manner. * Maintaining a knowledge of relevant supply markets, products, technologies and trends. * Continuously striving for improvements in cost, value and innovation. * Implementation and support of Procurement systems that support the execution of opportunities whilst reducing risk and improving compliance. What will I be doing? In this role you will be responsible for: * Business partnering IT and Finance stakeholders to co-define OVOs requirements for our future IT supplier ecosystem clearly, and in a manner which enables suppliers to provide optimum return on investment and innovation. * Owning and developing the Technology category strategy * Integration of SSE Retail IT suppliers following OVOs recent acquisition * Driving commercial benefits by open competition, but also by fostering collaboration with suppliers * Ensuring relevant budgets are in place and all OVO stakeholders are aligned with the procurement policy and process * Continuously striving for improvements in cost, value and innovation. * Continuous improvement of Procurement tools ( P2P, RFP, Contract database) , whilst managing change with OVO stakeholders. * Supporting the implementation of new procurement systems * Supporting OVOs Plan Zero objectives Is this the job for me? The ideal candidate should have a background which reflects the following elements: * MCIPS qualified ( or working towards this) with at least 5 years experience in a similar role * A strong negotiator. * Comprehensive experience across IT and Digital procurement categories * Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment and proposing, justifying, initiating and implementing change. * Strong presentation, relationship building, negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution skills with senior stakeholders. * Able to apply skills beyond the traditional functions of Procurement and to bring them to bear on a broad range of commercial issues. * Knowledge of Procurement systems (i.e Source to Contract and P2P) You should also be a self starter. team-oriented and with a collaborative, pragmatic approach. Exposure to energy and technology businesses is desirable but not essential. OVO believes in fueling human progress with clean and abundant energy for all.
