The Role Regulatory Compliance Apprenticeships: 3 Posts, Level 4 Hackney Council's award-winning apprenticeship programme has been designed to create quality opportunities for Hackney residents and school leavers. All of our apprenticeships last at least 13 months and combine paid work, training, and study towards a recognised qualification in a relevant subject. As an apprentice with us, you will earn at least the London Living Wage, and get a package of support including additional learning and development, and help to progress into a job or further apprenticeship. Over two thirds of our apprentices stay with Hackney Council. We are looking for candidates who have passion and enthusiasm, reliability, good organisation skills, a desire to deliver a high quality service for Hackney residents, the ability to form good working relationships with others and a commitment to undertaking a qualification. Regulatory Compliance is about regulation and the vital role it plays in the creation of a positive and supportive business environment, whilst also assuring public and environmental protection. We have two apprenticeships in our Enforcement team and one apprenticeship in our Markets and Street Trading service. You will spend 20% of your time working towards your qualification or taking part in training and development activities, with the remaining time spent gaining work-based experience. Enforcement Officer Apprentice - 2 Posts Regulatory Compliance Officer Level 4 Qualification, Two Years Hackney Enforcement Officers provide a visible uniformed presence across the borough. You will learn to undertake a wide range of enforcement duties in relation to community safety, Anti-Social Behaviour, street scene and enviro crime including noise abatement, environmental enforcement (Fly tipping, Graffiti, Fly posting, Pollution and Littering etc.) Licensing (Premises, Alcohol and Highways), and wider general public realm enforcement as required. You will be required to work flexible hours at any time of the day, including late nights and early mornings, within a shift pattern that may be changed at reasonably short notice depending upon the needs of the borough and its residents. Successful candidates will be required to successfully pass security vettingthrough enhanced DBS checks, local police intelligence checks and Metropolitan Police Service Security Clearance at the CTC (Counter-Terrorism Check) level. About Us Markets Service Officer Apprentice - 1 Post Regulatory Compliance Officer Level 4 Qualification, Two Years Hackney's award winning Hackney Markets & Street Trading Service are responsible for some of the most historic, iconic and internationally renowned street markets in London. You will learn to provide an efficient & effective front line service to service users and customers of Hackney's markets and Street trading. This will include acting as a first point of contact through effectively interacting with traders and stakeholders to address issues with service, delivery, solve problems and increase overall customer satisfaction. You will initiate appropriate, advisory or informative actions prior to enforcement action being escalated, ensure trader compliance, and help to make sure sites are safe, clean and efficient. You will also support colleagues in the creation of engaging content (written, audio and film) to use across a range of communications channels. You will be expected to work a varied shift pattern which will include early starts (7am) and late finishes (10pm) and weekend work- including every Saturday, and the occasional public holiday, in order to meet service requirements. Eligibility: There is no upper age limit for our apprenticeships . For all of the apprenticeships above, you must be 18 by 1 September 2020. For the Enforcement Officer apprenticeship, you must be 21 by 1 September 2020. To apply for these apprenticeships, you must already have: - at least two A-Level passes OR - another Level 3 qualification e.g. apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC Extended Diploma OR - 2+ years work experience in a relevant field. For all apprenticeships in the UK you must meet both of the following conditions: - You must hold a British or European Economic Area (EEA) passport or have permission from the UK government to live in the UK - Have been ordinarily resident in the UK or an EEA country for at least the last three years Key Accountabilities To be eligible for a Hackney Council Apprenticeship, you must be able to prove that at least one of the following criteria apply to you: - You are a current resident of the London Borough of Hackney - You are a current student at a Hackney education institution (school, college, university, PRU/alternative provision, Adult Learning provision) - You are a former student at
