Job Description
Ambulance Support Fleet Volunteer Location: Looking for volunteers based across the UK, it is an advantage if you live near a Hub or an Ambulance Support contract, but we also need volunteers that can travel so if you are happy to, we can be flexible with location. Commitment: Flexible, can be a mixture of weekday, weekends and evenings. Hours tend to be weighted towards weekdays. This role requires a full UK driving Licence with two year driving experience and experience driving a manual vehicle. Also, it would be advantageous if this included C1, D1 and Towing Trailer categories. About the role You will be supporting the Ambulance support Fleet team by co-ordinating and providing assistance with the movement and maintenance of Ambulance Support vehicles. Some administrative assistance and desktop project work could also be required occasionally. About the team Our Ambulance Support team provide a range of services from patient transport to front-line emergency ambulance support. Our teams are spread all over the country but are united by one common goal - to save lives About the Person You need to have good interpersonal, diplomacy, communication and teamwork skills although full training can be given for any necessary technical requirements. Also: An enthusiastic approach to work A desire to learn more about the work of the British Red Cross Excellent communication skills Full UK driving Licence it would be advantageous if this included C1, D1 and Towing Trailer A team player, who is also able to work independently when required. Ability to work and travel in the UK. Basic IT Skills including Excel Tasks included Driving vehicles between Red Cross offices and Hubs. Taking vehicles for service and MOT. Basic maintenance and cleaning outside of vehicles. To liaise closely with Fleet co-ordinators to ensure Ambulance Support vehicles are maintained to CQC requirements.
