Process Technologist

A fantastic opportunity for a Process Technologist to join our busy Technical Team. Reporting directly to the Product Development Manager and working on high profile accounts, candidates will enjoy full concept to launch project engagement. Working collaboratively with our Production, Technical and Packaging teams you will be required to transfer newly developed and approved products into our production facility, establishing the necessary processes to deliver quality products throughout every stage of the process and finding solutions to deliver continuous improvements. Requirements Key Responsibilities will include, but not restricted to: * Responsibility for the planning, organising and implementation of all product trials for new development and EPD * Full trial evaluation - internally and with customers * Assisting with the delivery of an effective critical path-based launch process that builds customer confidence and meets the needs of the business * Documentation of all trial details including shelf life, transit evaluation, microbiological assessment, packaging review etc * Organisation and submission of samples as requested by the customer and the Barfoots team * Reporting on issues and developing solutions with processing & operational capabilities * Implementation of improvements where necessary * Building, managing and developing effective working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams Desirable Skills & Experience * Minimum 2 -3 years experience in a Fresh Produce/FMCG environment, in a related role * Food related qualification * HACCP * Food Safety Level 3 * Experience of Gate Process * Excellent verbal & written communication skills at all levels * Strong client facing and relationship building skills * Proactive & self-motivated * Highly organised and analytical * Full UK driving licence Benefits Why Work for Barfoots? * Investors in People Silver Award * Company pension scheme * Discounted leisure membership * Discounted vegetable box scheme * Cycle to work scheme * Approved centre for Highfield qualifications * Free on-site parking * Committed to sustainability
