Job Description
The Alexa Smart Home team is looking for an exceptional Principal Solutions Architect with strong technical and business acumen to support our Dash business in Europe. Dash is part of Amazon's Alexa Smart Home that focuses on providing smart reorder capabilities for connected devices. (e.g., a coffee maker that intelligently reorders coffee pods before supply runs out). As Principal Solutions Architect, you will serve at the forefront of smart home innovation working with some of the largest device manufacturers in the world to develop scalable, flexible and resilient architectures that delight customers and accelerate the adoption of smart home usage and smart replenishment. You will serve in a dual role - externally focused as the technical leader to interface with our partners, and internally focused to liaise with teams across the Alexa Smart Home organization including engineering, product, marketing, program management, and business development to represent the needs of our partners. To be successful as a Principal Solutions Architect you will need to: Lead the Solutions Architecture function for Europe and work closely with senior solutions architects internationally to build best practices, tools, and systems that impact and scale the business. Identify, define, and execute the strategic initiatives we will pursue. You will develop crisp strategy documents, present to cross-functional teams, and own a number of priority goals for the business. Own the smart home developer technical experience for Dash, including creating best-in-class technical documentation, templates, and reference tools for device manufacturers that help accelerate their time to market and expand Dash across their product portfolios. Be customer obsessed. Bring your knowledge of technology and customer experience design to solving complex problems and creating elegant solutions that device manufacturers' using Dash can delight their customers with. Be scrappy. The Smart Home team operates like a start-up - we move fast, learn, and adapt along the way. We're looking for someone willing to roll up their sleeves as an individual contributor, solve problems using data and good judgement, and be comfortable working with a high degree of ambiguity. Be a leader and an influencer. Smart Home is on the cutting edge of consumer-facing IoT. You will be able to inform and influence manufacturers' IoT product roadmaps and convince them of the benefits of automatic replenishment as a strategic part of their IoT plans.
