Cloud Server Technician

Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Cloud Server Technician to join our Data Center Operations team in Belfast, which provides online hosting for 100,000+ members accessing our agency management solutions, in addition to business intelligence, mobility, insurance quoting, and rating solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and resolution activities related to software, hardware, and connectivity for over 3,500 virtual machines in multiple data centers across North America and the United Kingdom. This will include performing various program updates/installs, as well as addressing email issues, network-related issues, and other general server problems. You will also be relied upon to handle high-level technical issues that are escalated out of our Customer Support department. SHIFT + Our data centers are supported and administered on a 24x7x365 basis therefore shift work is required + Must be available to work a 4-day work week with a rostered shift pattern + 1 of the 4 work days will be either a Saturday or Sunday work day most weeks + Must be available to work one of the following shifts: + 10:00 am to 8:00 pm shift + 8:00 am to 6:00 pm shift RESPONSIBILITIES + Follow security best practices and processes to protect the customers' data. + Troubleshoots, researches, and resolves software/hardware/network issues related to the AppliedCloud environments + Liaises with Development, Support, and Implementation in order to work towards providing the best possible experience to our clients + Creates documentation for policies and procedures to be used in the department for software installations, server configurations, or troubleshooting + Works closely with other Cloud Services groups in order to resolve issues or help with configuration changes/testing. + Installs program updates for Applied Systems software. + Configures and tests software installation on terminal servers in the AppliedCloud environments. + Performs SQL database backups and restores for products utilizing SQL databases + Performs other duties as assigned by immediate manager or management team QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS JOB + Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent experience + 1+ year of technical support experience in a Windows domain environment, including troubleshooting simple to complex software/hardware issues + 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server (2012 - 2019) and Client (Windows 7/10) operating systems + Working knowledge of additional Microsoft products, including SQL Server + Working knowledge of scripting for administrative tasks (VBScript, PowerShell, or Command Line batch files) a plus but not required + Working knowledge of querying with T-SQL a plus + Highly organized with excellent time management skills + Excellent written and verbal communication skills WHO WE ARE + LEADING GLOBAL PROVIDER OF CLOUD-BASED INSURANCE SOFTWARE- Applied Systems develops the top two Insurance Agency/Broker Management software products in the world.
