Job Description
Code that makes a difference At IDBS, our cloud-based solutions help organizations to shorten the time lag between inception of an idea, to a full-blown product ready to serve its benefits on the world stage. It's an exciting time within our Software Engineering team at IDBS and as we continue our expansion we are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join our team and help us continue building and maintaining our solutions within AWS. To help us do this, you will require experience developing software which is highly available and performs at scale. You will also need effective problem-solving skills and thrive within a wide landscape of technologies as we transition our systems from a traditional 3-tier architecture to a cloud-based architecture within Kubernetes and AWS. The Role and Core responsibilities You will be joining our experienced developers in one of our agile teams, designing, building, deploying and maintaining our software solutions. You will gain exposure to a wide range of our software modules and the technologies backing these solutions, eg Kubernetes, AWS, Java EE, JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks (Web Components/React). We will be looking for you to bring effective interpersonal and communication skills, as you'll regularly interact with other technical members of the Engineering team. What we're looking for in you + Passion for writing and maintaining high-quality software which performs at scale + An understanding of how to support large scale distributed systems and resolve issues that arise + Advanced coding skills in Java EE, JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks (Web Components/React) + Experience in developing and integrating with server-side technologies for delivering content to Web Application e.g. REST, Web Sockets, Microservice Architecture. + Cloud experience - AWS preferred + Knowledge of microservice or distributed architecture What you'll get in return Working in an agile environment, our collaborative culture is enabling and engaging.
