In today's cloud-first environment, the proliferation of breaches, phishing, and malware have proven that legacy corporate security stacks are no longer sufficient. In Akamai's Enterprise Division we are on the cusp of a major transformation in enterprise security known as "Zero Trust." We are looking for a team member that can help to drive this transformation in the way our customers do business. Our Goal and You Our goal is to secure, protect, and accelerate all Enterprise communications as a cloud gateway service. As a Principal Solutions Engineer for Enterprise Security you: + Are adept at designing solutions that meet the business and technical requirements of existing and prospective Akamai Enterprise Security customers; + Develop relationships with key customers and partners using a highly consultative approach to help them address their enterprise security challenges and achieve their business goals; + Conduct architecture workshops, design clinics, product demonstrations, and educate customers (ranging from developers to IT teams to C-level executives) on the best ways to adapt security technology using Akamai products; + Engage in the most complex customer opportunities and environments, providing technical and market expertise to support the Sales teams; + Deeply experienced, self-directed, and capable of leading technical sales activities, managing customer technical relationships, and assuming subject matter expert responsibilities within Akamai. Responsibilities + Drive strategy and lead customer conversations in positioning Enterprise products for different use cases, for example Zero Trust, IDaaS, IdP, IOT, and digital transformation strategies; + Drive solution design and architecture transformation planning with priority target accounts; + Partners with sales teams and Executive Sponsors to educate existing and prospective customers about the superiority of Akamai's services - this could include conference calls, site visits, presentations, technical evaluations and workshops, technical objection handling, proposals, and follow up on all customer related issues; + Assist Solutions Engineer teams with complex Proofs of Concept and engage in escalated technical discussions around Zero Trust Architecture to help drive opportunities forward; + Leverage deep understanding of competitors to provide internal teams with guidance on how to effectively compete with them; + Provide escalation point for development of RFPs, RFIs, customer proposals, design documents ensuring all expertise, information and recommendations are concisely defined and expanded upon; + Participate and contribute as subject matter expert in one or more Enterprise Security products; + Provide input in driving go to market strategy for Technical Previews and Beta programs. Work with Product and Engineering to provide documentation, training, and knowledge sharing to the Enterprise Security team based on learnings from these programs; + Influence technology strategy and provide input to steer the direction for Enterprise products with focus on Zero Trust, Application Access, and Threat Protection; + Work closely with Engineering and Product Management to influence new product design and existing product roadmap; + Demonstrate Enterprise Security thought leadership representing Akamai at various public forums, and influence CxO stakeholders; + Mentor team members from the Enterprise SE team; helping them become more technically astute on Enterprise products and coaches on best practices in driving deals to success while also providing a conduit to Product and Engineering. + Travel up to 40% **Required Skills** + 7+ years of experience working in large, complex customer facing environments in a role such as technical pre-sales or consultant, responsible for the technical opportunity sales cycle, as well as influencing C-level stakeholders in one or more of the following areas: Remote Access, Cloud Security, Identity Management, Networking, Firewall, Mobile Device Management, and/or Device posture assessment; + 5+ years of experience in technical pre-sales, working directly with customers; + 5+ years of experience of internet technologies and network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, and DNS as well as experience with remote access technologies such as VPN. Desired Skills + Experience in Internet technologies, standards and protocols, including DNS, Enterprise architectures, Cloud Security, SAML and OIDC, IdPs, Authentication and Authorization, proxy architectures, secure web gateways, malware, endpoint protections, and threat mitigation techniques; + Strong knowledge of Security Architecture, Design and Operations, LDAP, Active Directory, SAML, SSO, RBAC, OAuth, OIDC, web protocols XML, JSON, REST; + Knowledge of s
