We are working to Inspire the Next - and this is your chance to be part of it. Your new role We're looking for a new Business Intelligence Architect to join our Maintenance Technology Systems team! In this exciting new role you will work on the strategic new digital solutions and development of systems and tools, and provide support for future project bids. You'll be defining solutions for storing and processing large volume of heterogeneous data collected with our global monitoring system. Specifically, you will be responsible for the following deliverables: * Perform in-depth business and technical analysis and design of the new solution in order to produce the Strategy going forwards. This will involve evaluating the Engineering and Service & Maintenance data to ensure that all the key information are properly available to a large variety of end users. * Responsible for knowledge transfer from the existing supplier and transitioning existing platform to a club based solution * Data modelling and storage of heterogeneous data in a cloud based platform * Design and implement data processing engine or strategy to store in a cost effective way large volume of data * Interact closely with key suppliers and develop jointly data models using industry best practice * Test the overall solutions against functional and non-functional requirements * Responsible for managing suppliers and developing technical support models and providing on-going support as a business as usual activity About you * Proven previous experience in physical and logical data modelling (including start schema) with both SQL, NOSQL databases and data warehouse. * Experience in developing Extraction, Transformation and Load engine to process data with Java enterprise technology * Strong mastering of SQL language including stored procedures (PL/SQL) * Hands-on administration and deploy of the following technology: PostgresDB, SQLServer, Cassandra DB, Hadoop Filesystem, HUW, HIVE. * Experience in configuration and deploy of Business Intelligence tools such as Pentaho as well as open source solution like Superset, Saiku * Experience in working in large cross boarder projects with CI and DEV-OPS methodology * Think critically and act logically to evaluate situations, solve problems and make decisions * Self-starter able to work independently and directly with the customer * Experience of fulfilling a client facing role and working with senior management and Executives * Excellent relationship-building and communication skills with internal/external stakeholders as well as 3rd party organisations * Willing to travel in the UK, Europe and overseas Desirable Requirements * Experience and knowledge of train to shore systems and communications, preferable knowledge of train systems and architecture Qualifications * A minimum of a master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent information technology degree Why Hitachi Rail?
