Help people in your community by joining Brandon Trust as a relief support worker in these unprecedented times. This is a an essential 'key worker category' role. Working alongside our experienced staff teams, you'll care for people who have a learning disability or autism, or both, to ensure their wellbeing and safety. Experience isn't required and we can support you with training. This is a casual 'bank' support worker role where working on a casual basis gives you flexibility. During the current COVID-19 pandemic, in addition to 'regular' shifts, bank workers may be asked to provide back-up support to core staff teams by doing things like collecting shopping and prescriptions, helping with household tasks, preparing food or driving. We understand that you may be concerned about the implications of the Coronavirus outbreak with regards to the recruitment process. As a relief support worker you'll support with many things for example cooking, shopping, driving and household chores, and also with activities that people enjoy, for example music and exercise. Respectful of people's differences, you have a flexible attitude and are able to flex working patterns. You're calm under pressure and considerate. A full driving licence is highly desirable. If you're successful at interview, you'll need to provide training certificates to confirm you have the basic required skills. If you don't already have these certificates you are welcome to use our eLearning resources to obtain them. We will assess your practice in the early weeks, and you'll have plenty of support.
