Overview

Job Description

Vetro Recruitment are looking for support worker superheroes to join the team! Hours: 7:30am - 11pm/ 10am - 11pm / waking nights available Pay: £8.72 - £9.77 including holiday pay Benefits: Flexible work, weekly pay and a dedicated consultant The opportunity: Do you want to make a difference to lives of children and young people? We are looking for passionate people to join our lovely team of Support Workers. You will have the chance to work on a flexible ad-hoc basis in a children's residential home in Aberdare that supports young people with emotional behavioural difficulties. The home offers placements to young people aged 10-16 years who display challenging and harmful behaviours. There are currently only young females at the home and therefore there is a large requirement for female support workers. Not only will you be working in the most rewarding sector there is, but you'll also be in control of when you work and where you work. As well as supporting this home in Aberdare, you will have the chance to work at a variety of children's services across South Wales (Cardiff and the Vale, Torfaen, RCT, Blaenau Gwent, Newport and more). We support children's residential homes, transitional services and respite care for 9 - 21 year olds. We've got lots of other support worker jobs with these same clients. Why not take the opportunity to work with these homes on a flexible basis to see where your next permanent opportunity will be? Shifts available: The home we support in Aberdare generally require 10am - 11pm shift cover. This is similar to most children's residential services, although there are also often sleep-in shifts available which can boost your hours and pay! We do have other services who require various shifts - anything from 12 hour day shifts to waking nights, so it is best to get in contact about what you are looking for in particular. Your experience: In an ideal world, you will have at least six months experience supporting children and young people with complex needs or emotional behavioural difficulties. On the other hand, we also love giving people the opportunity to experience a new sector who have supported other client groups but always wanted the chance to support young people! The one thing you do need? A full UK driving licence (and a great attitude!) The pay: As a children's residential support worker, you will earn between £8.50 and £10.70 per hour dependent on qualification. You'll be paid on a weekly basis and even have the option to work with a FCSA-accredited company to benefit from statutory employment rights and discounts worth hundreds of pounds in day to day savings - you can even get discount on your weekly food shop!
