In our roles as Shift Managers, you will be primarily accountable for leading and managing a team of employees to deliver the necessary workload in a compliant, efficient, and cost effective manner. The job holder has shift responsibility for deploying 30/40 employees per shift and managing their performance through a definitive suite of KPIs and business procedures. It is imperative the role holder can assess the workload, plan and organise labour, analyse output, and report achievements on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. The secondary accountability is to review the data collected to identify and plan improvements. This will be reviewed weekly and monthly with the Section Leader to determine activities that are needed, focusing on the the implementation and delivery of the weekly plan, and the expected results, which the job holder is responsible for tracking. It is expected that the Shift Coaching Manager will manage all employees in line with the HR policies and will develop/support employees through regular performance reviews and 1-2-1's. These processes are designed to encourage good performance, understand any gaps, and create plans for improvement where needed. It should be noted that as this is a permanent rotational Shift based role, there is greater responsibility on the employee to manage the site when the last of the senior team have left site for the day, and over the weekend, which is 60% of the working week. Main Responsibilities: As above, plus: + Manage an employee training plan that enables the most effective team to be deployed every day to manage the pallet throughput in the least number of touches. + Oversee and drive a safe workplace. + Hold monthly performance reviews with team members and document the outcome, including any follow up actions. + Communiciate effectively with team members, other members of the management team, and any other stakeholders using all available mediums. + Drive awareness and familiarity with all processes and procedures on site including QEHS, HR, and R&M. + Carry out thorough investigations and root cause analysis using defined processes and techniques on all failures - this relates to service, quality, safety and any other issues that result in loss, damage or harm to employees or assets. + Develop and support the ILL Operators to ensure they have the skills and confidence to step in and cover when needed. + Lead the investigation or coordination of any incident that happens outside of normal management cover. Qualifications Candidate Requirements: + Analytical mind with good planning and organisation skills. + Problem Solving and influencing skills. + Computer literacy. + Articulate with effective communication skills. + Interpersonal skills. + Production manufacturing or other fast moving environment. + Ability to multi-task and work under tight timescales. + People Management. + English. Preferred: + Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing. + Previous experience of Manufacturing Management. + Presentation skills.
