Job Description Main Duties: * Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. * Updates payroll records by entering changes in exemptions and department/division transfers. * Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, deductions, leave and other wage related data. * Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analysing information. * Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests. * Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. * Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. * Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. * Ensures timesheets and relevant information are processed and forwarded to payroll to meet time lines. * Cross-checks timesheet information with Biometric terminal data to ensure correct payment information is sent to central payroll. * Undertakes additional duties in line with capabilities as required to fulfil requirements needed by the contract * Communicates effectively with all the teams to ensure there is a seamless way of working across the contract. * Utilises the internal HR systems, people support services and guidance to promote best practice * Ensures that all payroll and absence management process are effectively controlled to minimise disruptions and impacting on engagement levels. * Responsible for purchases and stock control. Develops processes to ensure all service provisions are captured and billed correctly * Brings to life the Mitie values on a daily basis and demonstrates the exceptional everyday. Qualifications * Experienced in payroll in a similar business would be advantageous * Strong data analysis * Strong numerical and other data entry skills with great attention to detail * Excellent reporting skills * Solution orientated and proactive. * They possess an intermediate knowledge level of all Microsoft office packages. Fully competent in the use of PCs and other types of technology * Has developed excellent written and verbal communication to support them in their role. * Fully capable of understanding and maintaining the confidentiality across the site and respecting the needs of all stakeholders. * Works well under pressure to meet the challenging deadlines * Has the ability to effectively plan and manage own workloads, however understands when to ask for support when needed. * A team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact at all levels. * Demonstrates a positive 'can do' attitude and can flex their style to meet the needs of the business * Represents Mitie and the client at all times in a professional, courteous and confident manner Additional Information Health and Safety responsibilities: * Follow Group and company policies and procedures at all times; * Report any apparent deficiencies in systems of work or equipment provided that may result in failure of service delivery or risk to health and safety or the environment; * Use all work equipment and personal PPE properly and in accordance with training received; * Report any issues or training needs to your Line manager and /or via your divisional incident reporting system; Information Security: * Ensure compliance with Mitie's information security procedures in all activities; * Proactively identify and report security risks to your manager; * Report actual and suspected security incidents; Note: This job description Is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for this pos
