ERM is experiencing a rapid uptake in client demand for our advisory services related to climate-related financial risk and the low carbon energy transition. Our team is highly regarded in the market, supporting leading client organisations across the financial and corporate sectors. We are looking to further strengthen our team at the senior level with the appointment of a principal consultant. Candidates should have the experience and capability to lead strategic engagements and provide support at C-suite level to multinational clients in the mining, materials and power sectors, in particular. Our experience led to us being appointed as authors of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations on scenario analysis. Our work ranges from providing advice to major organisations on their climate-related strategy and policies, to supporting many aspects of their implementation at corporate and asset level. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE The core focus of this new role will be to lead strategic engagements with major corporations in the mining, materials and power sectors, in particular; and to support our engagements with institutions in the financial sector. The Principal Consultant will be expected to: * engage effectively with senior-level clients in across the range of corporate functions in major corporate organisations * play a significant role in development of client relationships * contribute to development of our service offerings, proposals and sales materials * lead and provide direction to ERM project teams drawn from our multidisciplinary staff base; * rapidly assume responsibilities for line management, coaching and mentoring of more junior consultants * support the commercial success of ERM through delivery of sales and revenue targets. For the right candidate, the opportunity exists for rapid progression within ERM's partnership model. CORE SKILLSETS ERM is seeking candidates who have a deep practical understanding of business responses to climate change and the low carbon energy transition. This will have been developed through at least 10 years of experience in a corporate, financial services or consulting/professional services setting. We are looking for candidates with outstanding skills and experience in one or more of the following areas: * Financial / Business Analysis * Market & Macroeconomic Research * Strategic Planning, including Scenario Analysis * Enterprise Risk Management * Strategy / Corporate Advisory support in a professional services / consultancy setting Typically, candidates will have a first class or upper second class degree in engineering, science, economics or business management (or equivalent) and ideally, a post-graduate qualification in business management, sustainability or finance.
