Our manufacturing plant in Yate is looking for a Process Engineer to join the site's Engineering Team. Working on a day shift, you will be responsible for identifying and driving continuous improvement across the site's plant and machinery. Job Mission Map the existing factory's processes in terms of efficiency and effectiveness to improve business continuity, productivity and flexibility. Provide designs for strong technical improvements to the factory processes, with particular focus on metal sheet stamping and forming presses. Your task in this role will include + Define and evaluate requirements for new equipment/moulding/tooling/materials and methods of manufacturing and assembly + Define, monitor and analyze technical capacity and recommend, design and implement modifications in current systems, procedures, and operating techniques, liaising with suppliers and machinery manufacturers to provide the best solution + Define standard maintenance procedures for complex maintenance activities (SMPs) + Prepare reports, budgets and required documentation for acquisition, utilization and maintenance of new/already installed equipment/moulds/tools + Participate/lead RFQ with supplier base for tooling/ machinery and systems + Participate to the tests for FPA and to installation of new equipment + Produce BC of proposed solutions to support capital investment process + Ensure standard process implementation and execution according to WPS standards, EH&S and work regulations + Ensure adherence to WPS standards (tools, processes, SOP's) and execute audits + Carry out problem solving and lead continuous improvement process + Monitor and propose improvement plans (optimization/cost reduction) for automation and manufacturing methods + Provide training on new/updated standard operating procedures regarding equipment maintenance plan + Ensure adherence to defined organizational behaviors (safety tools, punctuality at meetings, accuracy in standard implementation) + Develop and improve site technical drawings to include 2D/3D modelling (Creo, SolidWorks + Autocad) + Participate in Continuing Professional development Background and experiences + Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written + A continuous improvement mindset + A degree in mechanical engineering + Experience of providing machinery engineering support and development whilst working in a fast-paced production environment About us Whirlpool Corporation (NYSE: WHR) is the world's leading major home appliance company, with approximately $21 billion in annual sales, 92,000 employees and 65 manufacturing and technology research centers in 2018.
