You will be working to implement and analyse machine learning models (statistical, traditional & deep), be technical authority for data analytics projects and write bids for funded research project. You will also be a primary technical point of contact for the customer as well as have the opportunity to lead and mentor Junior Data Scientists. **The Person We Seek** Driven, adaptable, innovative, self-starter capable of quickly assimilating information from a range of sources. Someone who is keen to make a difference by suggesting improvements, implementing changes and progressing our business. **The Tech You'll Use** We use a range of different tools, frameworks and languages to achieve different things; Tensorflow, keras, Matlab, Python, C/C++ & OpenCPI to touch on the main ones. We leverage tools such as Jira, GitLab, MediaWiki, DOORS and Enterprise Architect. Our operating systems of choice are Linux and Windows. **Opportunities Available To You** + To be the technical authority for data analytics and machine learning projects + Writing bids to win customer funded research packages + Implement and analyse machine learning models (whether they be statistical, traditional or deep) in python or Matlab + To communicate results via reports and presentations to internal/external stakeholders + To recommend which research tasks should be transferred to product development backlogs + To develop or guide the development of rapid prototypes to de-risk internal product development (e.g. using dev boards, SDRs, Python/C++) + To develop a technical relationship with the customer + To lead and mentor junior colleagues **Your Skills & Experience** + Qualified with an Engineering/Physics/Maths Degree or PhD. + Proven commercial experience in research & development. + Understanding of both classical and deep machine learning approaches. + Demonstrable experience of data analysis (exploratory data analysis, statistical techniques). + Practical knowledge and experience of using a deep learning framework such as Tensorflow/keras. + Coding experience including a combination (not all) of Matlab, Python, C/C++. + Experience of developing concept demonstrators. + RF or Cyber background is desirable but training can be provided. + OpenCPI, NiFi and Hadoop knowledge would be desirable but training can be provided. **More Information** All L3Harris roles in Tewkesbury require successful candidates to undergo and maintain a Baseline Personnel Security Standard and/or United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) to obtain a Security Check (SC) without restrictions.
