Overview
Azure IaaS Consultant £70-80k - Home-Based(30% travel) Our client is a top Microsoft Gold Partner renowned for their expertise with Azure (they have multiple Advanced Specialisations and 6 gold competencies including Azure DevOps). They are Automation mad and look for any opportunity to improve the way they work. This is epitomised by their flat structure and central forum where their Azure Consultants and DevOps engineers interact constantly to help each other solve any problems they might have. You'll be based from home with expenses paid to client-sites which are mostly in the midlands. Realistically you'll be working from home a lot of the time (hence the effort they have made with their internal comms so employees can support each other and build relationships). 30% travel is almost unheard of for a consultancy role… This role is post-sales but if you like you're pre-sales you will be able to get involved or transition into a purely pre-sales role. You will be working with a mix of the following ( If you don't work with all of this know that's okay, you'll get a chance to learn what you don't know and avoid the stuff you don't want to work with) Azure vNet and Cloud networking (Unless you're 100% infra and avoid networking like the plague) Azure Migrations and Hybrid implementation Azure PaaS and IaaS Lift & Shift to Azure Virtual Data Center and LandingZone Azure Site Recovery, Back-ups and Disaster recovery solutions Automation: This client look to automate processes where possible using ARM Templates, PowerShell DSC, and IaC tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Chef and Ansible. NOTE we aren't expecting every applicant to arrive with this experience, if you want to learn to automate you can learn this. Ideally you will have experience with Bash/PowerShell at the least. Projects are large in scale and often with Public sector accounts so SC Clearance is perfect however if you are eligible for SC Clearance (5 years in the country with no more than 28 days out of country at a single time) you will also be a great fit for the role.
