Overview
Laboratory Technician Our client currently has a position for a Laboratory Technician within the Savoury department based on their Northamptonshire site. The role will be to work within the Savoury laboratories providing support to the development team. Due to the nature of the business the preferred candidate will have some previous related industry experience and an understanding of good laboratory practice. Within the role you will be working within a busy environment with associated time pressures. To be successful you will be a highly organised individual with the ability to work at high tempo. Job Role Maintaining laboratory raw material stocks and supplies - This will include collecting materials/supplies from production/stores, ordering from suppliers and chasing where required plus disposal of old discontinued materials/supplies. Cleaning work areas and utensils - Cleaning down on a weekly basis, emptying, filling dishwashers, cleaning cylinders etc Measuring parameters on new flavour creations - Measuring flashpoint, density, refractive index. Maintaining flavour storage area - On a monthly basis removal/disposal of old stock and adjustment of the system. Where required updating the application flavour library. Compounding Flavours - When required to compound flavourings for either the flavourists or the samples team. Full training will be provided (if required). Organising of samples for customer visits - arranging samples and collation for on or off site customer visits. If the visit is onsite to be on hand to clean and remove samples after tasting.
