Buyer

Our client is a thriving SME business based in Redditch who are now looking to strengthen their buying department. The Buyer Role Reporting to the MD and the Senior Management Team, the main focus of the Buyer will be to reduce the supplier base, reduce costs and ensure there is a robust purchasing structure in place across the business. As Buyer, your duties will include: Issuing purchase orders to suppliers and sub-contractors. Expediting deliveries to achieve improved delivery performance from suppliers. Negotiating with suppliers to achieve improvement on lead times. Proactively troubleshooting and resolving issues across the supply chain. Negotiating pricing and commercial terms with suppliers. Working on projects to deliver cost downs and supply chain improvements, ensuring that there is a robust buying structure in place going forward. The Ideal Candidate The successful Buyer will have the following: Proven experience as a Buyer or in Purchasing / Procurement. A Manufacturing, Engineering or Automotive background would be advantageous. Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills. Strong negotiation and influencing capability. Able to evidence where they have introduced and improved framework, structure and processes. What is on offer?
