2nd Line I.T. Support Engineer Location: City of London Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum Hours of Work: 9:00 - 5:30 Monday to Friday About the Company: Our client provides expert level IT support and infrastructure for businesses in and around Oxfordshire and the City of London. They have a varied client base. Which makes for a varied work day. 2nd Line I.T. Support Engineer Responsibilities: Take responsibility for delivery of support service to local and international users and resolve reported issues in a timely fashion Assisting staff in use of AV Conferencing facilities, setting up and managing calls Record all progress on issues in the call management system Where appropriate, escalate matters that require systems or policy changes to the Infrastructure Team Provide an excellent and professional level of client service at all levels Creating users Manage Group Policy Carry out system monitoring and maintenance per the agreed schedule, to include backups, server/desktop patching. Liaise with senior infrastructure team on projects and problem management Ensure access levels of users are maintained to maximise security. Promote awareness of I.T. security issues across our client’s user base through normal support activities. There will be opportunities to get involved with various projects as they arise. The successful candidate should be able to help identify new business requirements (e.g. based on common support requests) and flag up areas of vulnerability within our clients’ infrastructure (e.g. failing backups). Any other duties as reasonably required. 2nd Line I.T. Support Engineer Requirements: Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a 1st Line Helpdesk support role The successful candidate will have a high level of knowledge and experience across most fields of I.T including Windows server and client operating systems, Terminal Services / Remote Desktop protocols, PC hardware, networking, Microsoft office, printers, mobile devices and VOIP An understanding of virtualisation technologies would be advantageous Excellent proven problem-solving skills Experience of ConnectWise Manage an advantage 2nd Line I.T.
