The main responsibilities of this Assistant Accountant role are as follows: Full responsibility for preparing reconciliations for the organisation's key accounts on a daily basis, investigating any variances or dealing with queries as required. Play a pivotal role in the maintenance of the company credit cards, including uploading all required receipts and importing data into the accounting system, conducting sample checks on a monthly basis and ensuring spend compliance with company procedures. Take the lead in the preparation of VAT returns on a quarterly basis to review stage and be at the forefront of producing new ideas to improve the current VAT process. Provide invaluable support in the maintenance of the fixed asset register, calculating monthly depreciation charges and preparing notes for the year-end procedure in a timely manner. Deputise for a various members of the finance department in a variety of ad hoc tasks. The successful candidate will have: The desire to, or already started studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification. Experience in preparing reconciliations.
