Overview

Job Introduction We have an exciting opportunity to join our Compliance Policy team as a Data Protection Consultant on a 12 month fixed term contract. As a Data Protection Consultant, you will provide direction, consultancy and challenge to support the Society’s compliance with General Data Protection Regulation. Main Responsibilities Skipton Building Society has a Data Protection Framework which you will help contribute to and develop by supporting plans, ensuring that progress against these plans are monitored, reported and managed. In addition, you will propose and help implement policies, processes and practices that are pragmatic, customer focussed and aligned with business requirements. Taking ownership for complex issues is key to success within this role, working across all business areas to ensure a compliant, timely and pragmatic solution is applied. Ensuring risks relating to own area of responsibility and/or the wider business are robustly anticipated, mitigated and managed. You will also inspire and engage others through role modelling the values and behaviours within your team and support the development of a high-performance culture. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone with the ability to engage, influence and work in partnership with a wide range of stakeholders, explaining legal and regulatory concepts to business managers in a manner that ensures buy in and understanding. You will be a good completer/finisher with an ability to focus on detail and deliver high quality outcomes. Using initiative to solve problems and seeking advice where needed will be essential to succeed in this role. You will have experience working in a regulated environment such as Financial Services and/or working to industry standards.
