Overview A top investment bank is seeking a junior and senior software developer to work on their Prime Clearing platform. A technology intensive business that aims to provide clients with tools and services to run their business effectively. In Prime Services Technology the team regularly consider new technology products available to push effective and innovative solutions to drive the business and clients forward. As a result, the team are constantly expanding their platform to offer clients more products, creating opportunities for people in the group to gain experience in a variety of different technologies. Ideal Candidate The team are seeking both a junior and senior developer who have a strong passion for technology and financial involvement. You must bring innovative and problem-solving flair, building solutions in risk management, big data, mobile and more. The platform communicates with internal and external stakeholders so you must have clear communication and confidence to face off to the business. Responsibilities: You will work in partnership with Risk Managers and Strategists to create solutions that meet our clients' needs, delivering commercial impact while managing risk. You will establish and build on relationships with colleagues across Risk, Engineering and Operations teams to refine complex asks into scalable products. You will be relied upon to contribute to technical design decisions and apply best practices to deliver highly testable solutions. You will be empowered to identify and act on opportunities to improve our products and ways of working that accelerate change and enhance developer experience. Basic qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field that involves programming, or equivalent practical experience. Proficiency in one or more of Java, Python, C, C++ or similar languages. Understanding of databases - SQL Server, Oracle Database, MySQL Ability to work as part of a global team and deliver results quickly, demonstrate initiative and show commercial impact. Preferred qualifications Practical experience with distributed systems design and development. Knowledge of one or more asset classes (Equities/FX/Credit/Rates/Commodities), pricing or risk a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and drive. Excellent communication skills, able to contribute to global discussions on design and strategy.
